I'm so proud to be patron of reading at the marvellous Glebe Primary School in West Sussex.

The school works hard to put reading for pleasure at the heart of the school and the enthusiasm from both the school staff and children shines in every classroom. What I particularly love is the way the school have invested in having both a KS1 and a KS2 library within the school and they also benefit from a super enthusiastic and committed librarian who encourages teachers to use the West Sussex Schools library service to keep a rotating and relevant selection of books within the school. Colourful reading displays are everywhere and there is a note on every classroom door displaying what the class are reading together at the moment. I feel part of a wondrous reading cog at the school, and love being on this reading for pleasure journey with them!

If you want ideas of how to bring reading into the heart of your school or you want to see the benefit of teachers as readers, school librarians and libraries make, then you can follow Glebe on Twitter here. An extra special hoorah goes to school librarian extraordinaire Kate Gieler!

Glebe's brilliant Chatterbooks group won a @royalsociety video review prize! Take a look at this super video and you'll see why, plus get lots of excellent science non-fiction book recommendations!
